So Alibaba is set to float this week.

Is anybody thinking of getting in on the action?

    I think I'll have a punt.

I bought some Yahoo last week as a play for the IPO.

I don't know about BABA itself, the shares don't give you direct ownership in Alibaba.

A spread bet might be the way to go if you looking for short term exposure ,Ig index are offering positions at the mo on the grey market .ive enough irons in the fire at the minute , still might have a flutter :) , I'll c later in week .

huge trading in this today. I wouldn't be getting in at the 90's. MIght see a correction in three days when trades settle and the shorts come in.

Anyone know when shorting becomes allowed on Alibaba?

Regular" shorting can technically occur first day, but most will occur after the three days of settlement on Wednesday. Firms are only supposed to allow shorting on fully settled securities, but they have a few ways to circumvent that.
