Hi, just looking for an opinion on the following ballpark quote for some renovation work. House is a 3 bed semi-d, most of the floors are already up due to ongoing plumbing and building work. Moving of the fuse board shouldn't involve having to extend cables due to new location being very close (although can't rule it out).

Move fuseboard to new location €280

Rewire mains for ESB to front of house
(Meter cabinet, 63amp switchfuse, cable (3x16sq mm SWA) and cleats for same €440

Supply and fit earth rod €110

Cost per twin switched socket €65

Testing and completion cert for ESB €160

    All prices Ex VAT.

€65 a socket sounds expensive considering there'll be easy access to run wires, no? We're looking to get 10 or 11.

    Thanks.

Btw if anyone knows a good electrician who's free to start soon feel free to PM me!

The thing you will find with electrical prices is they can vary massively depending on the size of the contractor. The rates you have are average but if you shop around you will find cheaper. just make sure they are registered.
