Central locking nightmare!

    Hi long story short.
Drove to a filling station and couldnt for the life of me get the petrol flap open! Double clicked unlock button on keys but still no movement.
So got home and had a look threw the cars manual (opel astra 1.7 cdti 05) then thought to myself maybe its the central locking acting up, so i removed the fuse in the boot of the car for the central locking and noticed the door lock/unlock button on the dash started flashing.
Put the fuse back in and now it wont work! The fuse is fine.

Anyone any ideas what it could be or what i could try to fix it.
    Thanks.

Immobiliser could have stepped in, disconnect the battery of the car for 10 mins and then reconnect it, could solve the problem

Don't go fiddling with fuses and batteries. You could knock out the radio next.Go to an Opel garage and just ask a salesman or a mechanic. They will probably give you a little free advice.

I would not bother going to a main dealer with an almost 10 year old car unless it was a last resort. For this type of problem my first port of call would be to a good auto electrician to determine if it is an electrical or motor fault.

Funny thing is, when i close the boot and press the lock button on the keys the boot will lock and same for when i try open the boot.
So its communicating in some way no?

Is there not some sort of fail safe device in the boot to open the flap if this happened?

Alfa Romeo, BMW and Mercedes all have a hidden cable in the boot to pull on to open the flap if it fails
