Hit front derailleur with my heel

I was looking for some help, Im only recently out on my bike again, really enjoying it, but now I'm afraid I've done a bit of damage to my bike.

The cleats on my shoes have worn down quite a bit now, so there is quite a bit of play in them (I'm getting new ones tonight) and when out on my cycle on sat, my heel hit off my front derailleur a few times. I obviously tried to stop doing this but it happened a handful of times.

Anyway on my way home I heard a clicking noise when I was in certain gears. When i got home and had a closed look it appears that the front derailleur is very close to the chain when in the big ring and when in the middle ring/smaller cogs.
I have obviously hit it inwards with my heel and now it needs moved out a bit to stop it rubbing off the chain.

Is there an easy fix to this, or will it involve a trip to the LBS for a bit of a service??

    Thanks in advance

    Roddy

if it's a clamp on deraileur it may have just rotated around the seat tube. if so you should see the 'arm' is not parallel to the bike. if it's a braze on deraileur bolted to the frame and it's not parallel to the frame that's a different kettle of fish altogether. however, the gear cable may have just slipped when you hit it and so you'll be able to adjust that worth the adjusted at your shifter (if it has one). just check if it's parallel and go from there. if you're in the big ring on the front and biggest cog on the back others vice versa with the small ring that's just what happens.

Loosen the deraileur a little and rotate it back parallel with the frame (use the big chain ring as a guide). It sould be possible to rotate it a bit , even if it's the "Braze On" type.

Thanks for the replies, ill have a look at it tonight when I got home.
Picked up a new set of cleats in the LBS last night and the guy said it prob only needed a minor adjustment and that he would do it for me if i couldn't get it sorted.
