    Hi,

I'm selling my 5d2 and need to get the sensor cleaned. I'm living in Cork (not long) and need to get it cleaned before I meet the buyer on Thurs. Anyone know where I can get the job done?

    Thanks

You could try O'Leary's Cameraworld on Oliver Plunkett Street or Denis McSweeney's around the corner. Barker Photographic should do it too but they're not city centre..

There's no where in cork that will do it. But Barker's photographic sell the selling kits/ swabs. its pretty easy to do it yourself. Will cost about 30 euro for the kit and you'll a few get cleans out of it.

I do my 5d myself and it's really not a big deal. The only thing to remember is to read the instructions properly and make sure the battery in the camera has a good charge - the biggest potential problem is mirror flipping down due to a battery going flat when you have a swab in the chamber.

When cleaning your sensor it is vital that you NEVER put the camera on B (Bulb) setting for two reasons: If you take your finger off the shutter release the shutter will close on the sensor swab - and the shutter will always come out the worst. Also in B mode, the sensor is powered and can attract more dust.
The correct procedure it to go to the sensor cleaning mode in the camera menu. As mentioned earlier, make sure there is a good charge in the camera battery.
