Booking Hotels in Europe

While going through some hotels looking for a good deal most hotels require you to book with your Credit Card but you pay on leaving the Hotel with no charge if booking is cancelled 1 full day before travelling. My question, if I am not travelling for 3 weeks but I book now, if my credit card is maxed out or has less than the full sum payable to the hotel in 4 weeks available on it at the time of booking will my booking still be accepted.

As far as I know, yes, but be aware - some hotels on booking.com (if that;s who you're using) DO charge for the entire stay at the time of booking.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Depends very much on the hotel, double check the T&Cs.

You can always email them and tell them to provisionally (its a euro word they like to use) hold it for you. NO CC NEEDED.

AS long as your cc can charge the deposit amount of 5-10% you can book it. Places have different terms on when you can cancel your booking so be aware of that. Plenty of booking engines out there, but sometimes its just as good or better to directly message the place you want to stay, as booking engine will say place is full, but place can be empty.

Yes, you'll be fine, they need the CC in that situation so that they can hit you for one night's charge in the event that you are a 'no show'. They don't slap a charge on your card, they want the number 'just in case'. All they will do is check that it's a valid card number.
