I was thinking of bringing in a Honda Jazz Hybrid from UK

When I try to calculate VRT on revenue online calculator this model is not listed so cannot get approx VRT

Is there any way to determine the open market selling price here if the model is not in this market as I would like some idea of VRT before I make a decision

I rang revenue but they were no help

Honda Ireland do not import Jazz Hybrid into Ireland

    Thanks

    mylesm

Don't think so, what normally happens is that when you present the car for VRT inspection and the NCT cannot find it on their database, they then ask Revenue to put a value on it (OMSP) at which point expect to be shafted unless you can appeal with proof of otherwise.

I was going to suggest contacting Honda Ireland but I cannot see them being any more helpful than Revenue.

It is a Cul de Sac kind of situation. You need to buy the car and bring it to an NCT Centre for an inspection and to receive your VRT bill. Then you pay it or sell the car back where you bought it from if you feel being overcharged, or you can appeal. But once they have your money...

    I reckon it'd be €1800 based on a €20k OMSP and 104 g/km

You should really look at a Yaris hybrid. Much better transmission and hybrid setup and 85g/km

    Thanks Colm_mcm

I did look at Yaris hybrid but not nearly as flexible space wise as the Jazz the space in them is unreal

I had a prius before so I am familar with the trans hybrid setup if the yaris had a bit more carrying space I would really be interested
