    Hi

Just got a letter inviting me to the next phase of selection. This is an aptitude test in Verbal Usage,Numerical Computation and Clerical Checking. Has anyone else heard anything?

Yeah I got mine today for the 24th of September. I heard from people who've worked for AnPost that it's fairly straightforward, just basic stuff. Still not sure where the actual job is for though, I'm assuming it's for the GPO itself.

Hi, were these jobs advertised as an open competition? Just curious because I had kept my eyes on An Post website for a while and then stopped.

Hi, were these jobs advertised as an open competition? Just curious because I had kept my eyes on An Post website for a while and then stopped.

I just checked the careers section of the AnPost website about 6 weeks ago and there was a application form for a temporary retail clerk. I sent that in, then emailed HR to ask if there were any other positions. A guy got back to me with an application form for a retail clerk, but it was different from the first one I sent in, I just sent them both in to be safe. It's gone off the site now but my advice would be to email HR asking if you can still apply, and if not, ask when more jobs will become available, at least that way you won't have to keep checking randomly. All the best!

I'm in on the 23rd. I assumed the jobs are in the GPO too. Can you remember if they originally mentioned how long the job is for or did it just say temporary.

My letter I got said the position was that of a Retail Clerk no mention of temporary

I don't think they specified, I think it just said there were part time/full time positions available. My sister used to work for them and she'd get 3 month contracts, but they'd always renew them them, she ended up working for them for 2 years.

I wonder are there many vacancies. Would anyone know if it's Monday-Saturday with one day off during the week or Monday-Friday and working one Saturday a month or something similar?

Good luck all going for the aptitude test. Fingers crossed we don't have to wait too long to hear how we did.

How did anyone who was doing their tests today get on?

Just did my aptitude tests. It was all fairly basic. Not enough time to answer all numerical and clerical checking questions. Best of luck to everyone doing their tests this afternoon and tomorrow.

Where there many people there. Did you get any more info about the job itself. I'm heading in for mine at 2.30. I hope it went well for you

The room was about 3/4 full. There was a good mix age wise. The people that were there to help were very nice and approachable. They gave some info about rate of pay and locations of the offices where people could be working. They read from a sheet so everyone gets to same information. Best of luck this afternoon

Has anyone link to where these jobs are posted?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 831 ✭✭✭rsl1976

So I was in this afternoon. First part was fine managed to answer all questions in the 10mins. Numerical was next only managed 11 in 7 mins and the next one was checking which I managed 26 in 7 mins.

Locations of jobs are GPO Blanchardstown Tallaght and Dun Laoighaire and not in small local post offices. No mention of salary. Said we should hear from them in two weeks

anpost.ie/AnPost/MainContent/About+An+Post/Careers/ but there is only an account manager vacancy currently up.

I heard back 2 days ago and was invited for an interview, they said they'd contact people either way. My friend did his aptitude test the day before me and still hasn't heard back, so I'm not sure what order they're replying to people in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 164 ✭✭Calmcookie84

I haven't heard anything either. It's two weeks tomorrow for me since I did my tests. Fingers crossed something arrives tomorrow but I'm beginning to think that this ship has sailed :-(

Same here. Two weeks tomorrow. I know they said it would be two weeks but I thought we would have heard today since others heard last week. Just have to keep looking I guess
