    Itd work, but tbh thats an old socket with old RAM(its actually more expensive to buy DDR2 than faster DDR3 now), kinda a waste of cash. You could do it to keep it going for a couple months longer while you save for a platform change.

    Would you recommend an alternative graphics card for the money i have in mind? (which is about 40 at most!).

    Just want to upgrade it to run low end games better. (Just games like Minecraft and those sort of graphics.)

    Not sure what processor you have but it's an AM2 board so you may have a half decent processor for games like Minecraft. Something like this should help out somewhat. But check what CPU you have first - no point if its a single core or low end dual core.
