Just ordered one. Proper windows phone reduced from over €400 to €150

Boards wont allow my hyperlink, something about a new user, anyway just look for lumia 820 on CPW

    Is it unlocked?
Got caught with the Lumia 520, bought it for 50e and was quoted 35 to unlock. Seemingly Windows phones are expensive to unlock.

I think Carphone warehouse handsets are generally unlocked, but I'd double check before you make the plunge.

Very capable phone for the price. Screen res isn't the best, but its great value for the specs otherwise, and it'll be getting all forthcoming updates too.

It could be a mistake. The promo ad on the main page says 149.99

But the product page says 249.99.

    See attached.

    Big jump.

Windows Phone 7 (Lumia 800 etc.) is obsolete.

Problem I had with this phone was the memory....or lack of it. I'm not a big app user and had minimal photos, no music/vids etc and the phone was constantly running out of space.
Google about the "other" file storage memory problems.

I changed to a 920 and it's a big improvement (but you'd expect that with a higher spec).

The 820 has a memory slot and 1GB of ram. So that shouldn't have been an issue. Biggest issue would be small battery and heavy weight. Also dunno how long it will have updates. I would consider one over my 520 which I can't see in sunlight at all.

There's an SD card and with 8.1, you can put anything on it; apps, music, files etc.

It also fixed the "other" issue.

Marked as "Discontinued" on expansys.ie and .co.uk. Wonder has it gone?

    Fyi
Mine arrived today, unusual piece of white tape sealing the box, wrinkled cellophane covering the phone

    Phone is DOA

called customer care and was told to bring it to local retail shop - will do tomorrow but I doubt theyll have a replacement, am expecting to be leaving with money back and no phone unfortunately

Sometimes a bargain is too good to be true

Yeah an SD card is essential for this phone. All my sister had on hers was photos & her memory was completely filled over time by 'other' files.

Nice enough phone for the money. Bit on the heavy side for a relatively small phone, but overall it's pretty good. Get a cover though. My sister dropped hers once & the screen completely shattered, the corners are weak points.
