Looking at chocolate not eating chocolate....

Ok so I was given some rather ornate looking chocolates. They are from abroad and unusual.

They look exactly like fruit. The shape and colour etc bright oranges etc. They LOOK like ...well art to be honest. But they TASTE awful...like soap. I have checked that I am not a moron and they are not soap but actual chocolate.

But the point is ....they look amazing but taste ****...and the reason they taste **** is because they are meant to LOOK amazing.

    BUT IT'S CHOCOLATE! WHAT'S THE F**KING POINT?

Thinking of going to the shop to buy a yorkie.

It's looking chocolate but not eating chocolate????

Do artisan foods sometimes rip the piss?

I dunno, it just sounds like marzipan, it's often shaped like fruit for some reason, marzipan's lovely though.

    Late night thread fuel!

Wear waterproof PJs tonight. Tie the ends of the legs securely. And the waistband. No sudden movements. Hang in there. We're all with you!

I eat pretty much all food willingly (except meat). People think I'm not fussy but I don't eat non food.

If it were good chocolate this would be a perfectly normal response to chocolate :)

Hold on. Maybe this is the good chocolate. Maybe you've been wrong all these years, and your chocolate-appreciating palate is now irreparably fcuked?

    That would be a tragedy.

    That's a given!

Yep, those of us raised on Wondachoc (rice krispie buns), Cafferys and, on a good day, Cadburys or Mars, have no idea how watered down this 'chocolate' is (by milk or just oil).

Hardcore Belgian Chocolate is 50/71/90% cacao and is an acquired taste.

To put it another way, imagine someone who only ever drank Bud Light trying another 'beer' called Guinness...
