Patching meal bins

    Hi All,

Looking for some advice on patching meal bins. We discontinued milking about 3 years ago and have two meal bins which we stupidly left a small amount of ration in them. Now the ration has soaked up moisture and rust patches and holes are developing in the bottom, but I have no idea how to fix them properly. Obviously step 1 is taking all the ration out which shouldn't be a problem but will take a lot of donkey work, although I'll probably take off the very bottom piece connected to the auger to get easy access.

I've attached a few pictures to show what state they are currently in.

    Thanks

Not a big job take off a bottom sheet go to local engineering get them to make new ones and fit with new bolts and silicone

I have a split bin here and one side wasnt being used and the lid was left open, ended up with the same problem, i just got really light tin and stuck it on with tec 7 and put tec screws into them every so often. the biggest hassle was marking out the cuts for the tin. works grand. taking the cone off can be a lot of hassle with seized bolts and messing. Most bin suppliers will sell a new cone independantly if your going to the hassle of taking it off. There around e350-400.

Are you going to sell the bins or reuse them?
