Quick query. Got a car tyre puncture last week. Brought wheel/tyre into tyre repair shop. The guy there checked it out. Rim of steel wheel was bent on a section and therefore air leaking out of tyre. The guy suggested that I get a new second hand steel wheel from a scrap yard.

Just wondering if there might be any garages willing to try straightening out the rim?

I'd even try to straighten it out myself.

    BUT...

Considering safety thing and the fact that second hand steelie would cost you a tenner from breakers, I'd rather dump it and get another.

If it's just a steel wheel get another from a breakers or some tyre place. They usually sell them for next to nothing.
