Hi all, hope someone can help! I am starting a new job in Eastpoint business park. As it's an intern position and I am not close to DART/LUAS lines, I was wondering if there is any (preferably free) parking nearby?

The housing estate in behind Clontarf Garda Station. Fills up fast so get there early (before 0815). Then you can either walk or get the free shuttle bus from the DART Station.

There's parking in there. It's an industrial estate with so many multinationals, a car park is a necessity so don't worry. It's free as well. When you drive in just tell the steward what company you work for

Just in case that has changed recently (havent been there since June) you could be clever and join Westwood gym in Clontarf if you're into fitness, free parking

It's not free for just anyone though. Companies pay for parking spaces and getting a space is often based on position/seniority in said company, if indeed they rent any spaces at all.

Theres a huge carpark at the back by the eastwall enterance that's a free for all. Just as you turn in onto bond road take the first right into the Freight place and the carparks there. Theres a small steps up to teh back of UPC near munchies

On this link its the road between Yahoo and international Fright agency. https://www.google.ie/maps/place/EastPoint/@53.3554042,-6.2227007,18z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x48670efd96bb6003:0x344cf7c564053e03?hl=en

Also, a lot of companies have overflow spaces not directly beside their own building. Ask for a parking map.

I worked for Yahoo in Eastpoint as a contractor and they were more than happy to oblige me in a parking pass during my time there. Just park for the day in Eastpoint and ask if they provide permits, which I'm sure they would as most of the Companies have a considerable number of reserved car parking spaces.

I had an interview there, parked, nothing was said

A lot of empty spaces as well and this was a weekday at midday

That doesn't mean it's routinely free though for all employees. However, it sounds like things have changed since my time there with this free for all carpark - I would have liked that!

I could have counted all the cars there with one hand. It was a surprise to me as well. I know they operate a shuttle bus now for employees that takes you from the offices straight to the dart so it saves you the long walk. It's really a concrete jungle there.

Ah that's great, sounds like there's lots of options!! I was considering joining westwood so I can commute later in the evening when traffic is quieter, is it possible to park in there all day?

I was a member of Westwood. They have 2 car parks, one is the main car park and they also have designated car spaces beside the dart for Westwood members only. The main car park you might not get away with because it's monitored by security but the other one you should get away with. It's never full. In fact their customer retention has dropped so much that they might not need that car park anymore. When you join just mention it to them and even if they say no do it anyway
