Acer Aspire V5 11.6" slow internet speed

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if ye would be able to help sort out a problem I have. I bought an Acer Aspire V5 laptop last week and I found it extremely slow, especially on the internet.

My main concern is the internet speed and at home we currently have 50mbs. On the other laptops we seem to be getting well over 50 sometimes nearly 70 according to the speedtests but on this acer I'm only getting between 10-20mbs which is extremely slow.

Google chrome and the internet in general just seems slow and not right.

I brought the laptop back to the shop the other day and they said it could be a software problem i.e. McAfee running in the background. So they disabled the McAfee instant web shield thing and it has been running a bit faster but not as much as I'd like it to.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could do to fix this problem. I also downloaded WLAN driver updates from the acer website but still no improvement.
