Is iCloud drive similar to Dropbox?

If so the 200gb for €4 a month seems very good value. Do apple do a yearly rate?

It's sort of like Dropbox but there's no iOS app to access the files. Instead, Apple want you to Use it for storing documents which you can edit on iOS and OS X, and videos. There is a web app, though.

Prices are certainly pretty reasonable but remember if you have iCloud photos enabled, that'll eat up your storage but they're there for as long as you keep paying.

I suppose I'm more interested in being able to access the documents than edit them

Kinda depends on the documents. If you have an app capable of viewing them then it's good. Either way, there's 5gb free so worth a go.

This page shows what looks like access to iCloud drive on iOS by some means similar to Dropbox.
Or could that be the view that opens when you're in a compatible app? All a bit of a mystery at the moment.....

Price for 1tb is steep enough compared to €99 on Dropbox

If your looking for actual cloud storage similar to Dropbox then Microsoft Office 365 seems the best deal. You'll get the yearly subscription for under €120 which includes the whole suite of Office program's, including all updates for free, it can be installed on up to 5 devices and also includes 1TB of cloud storage. Really good deal if you rely on the office program's for work or education.
