    Hi.
We are in the process of buying our first house.
Most of the interior of the house needs to be re-done but there is a nice existing solid oak floor in the sitting room.
Although I do like it - It is quite a light colour & personally I prefer darker floors.

I'm just wondering what options we have for darkening its colour. Is this possible or too troublesome for an already laid floor?

I guess we could replace it with a new floor but seems a shame to get rid of a solid oak floor unnecessarily.

    Any advice?
Thanks in advance got your help.

    Hi
If it is definitely solid wood (engineered May not work) it is possible to sand stain & varnish the floor.
Try & find an experienced floor sander in your area & don't use a combined stain & varnish.
Pm me if you can't find one - I know one who will travel virtually anywhere!
