Hi all, quick question for someone on here what is the typical consumption of 13 tonne machine per day say 8-10 hours typical work. I know it depends on the work being done and the particular machine but a guideline figure is what I need.
    Thanks

I think you would get on average about 3 or 4 days work from a tank but I'm open to correction

How much is it to rent for the week if you mind me asking?

I have a 3cx but could do with a digger for rock breaking or wall building for a few months. Might look into buying one and selling on again. 3cx is too light for the rockbreaker

I've drove several 3.5 ton diggers here over the years, but hired a 5ton this time. And the difference in what you can do is huge, for many outside jobs you get them done in under 1/2 the time. It's surprisingly ok on juice also, I've only put 2 tankfuls in over the 2wks I've had it.

Agreed we own an ex135 and a tank will roughly do 2 8 hour days

You're not working it hard enough if that's all you've used.
Local lad runs the hired digger 24hrs 2 drivers drive it in shifts.

Ha I know, I'm only driving it between doing the other farm jobs. I would have hired a driver and worked it solid for a week, but it was all odd jobs that I was doing and would have had to stand over the driver most the time. A 5ton being used part time like I did still beats the socks off trying to use a 3.5t full time, other than in the tight stuff.

Same here. Would I be right in saying that a digger fuel tank is designed to keep a digger going for about 2 days?

Bigger the digger, the bigger the tank.

Depends what your using it for. Tracking about uses the most fuel. Once your stationary it's just a hydraulic pump your really driving.

We have a 20 ton ex200 and 50litres of juice in a stationary enough digging would be used in about 7 hours.

I've used that in half that time tracking up and down clearing ditches.

Cleaning ditches and digging dykes with 130 Zaxis from 8 - 6 and tank would do 3 days on economy mode
Job took a month is how I know

cronin_j is rite. Tracking about the place drinks fuel. Suppose it depends on the job. No point drawin stuff up and down a site for example with the machine if you could dump into a trailer and get a tractor 2 draw it.
