    Anywhere doing live updates?

    Things have settled down now.

There is a 3-man breakaway that have a whopping 7 minute lead over the peloton. They'll take all the intermediate sprint bonifications. Yesterday's stage winner is there, along with Alex Dowsett.

I don't know if the bunch has regrouped after it was split earlier. The yellow jersey group have taken it very easy through the feed zone, so the large group behind should catch them.

The Tour of Britain official website has live updates. It's not great though, they are more interested in posting Twitter photos than actually saying what is going on in the race.

There is roughly 55km left, and the break still have over 7 minutes lead. This could turn out very, very good for Alex Dowsett.

The trio out front have 34 km to go with a gap of 4mins 50

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,507 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

The breakaway have a 4 minute 13 second lead with 25km left.
Dowsett is 1 minute 25 seconds behind Kwiatkoski in the GC.

thats why I love races at this level. With smaller teams its so much harder to control the race and defend the leaders jersey.

I expect them to cut the gap to < 1 min by the end but still it makes for much more exciting racing :)

3 minute 33 second lead with 18km left!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

    3.27 with 16 remaining.

Dowsett only needs a stage win and 1.13 for yellow. OPQS must be sweating a bit right now given Dowsetts TT ability !!

Will be touch and go for yellow at this rate. The break are certain to stay clear thats for sure.

3.04 ahead with 12km remaining. Break holding the gap well here.

Edit and Me having Dowsett in my TOB Velogames team looking a master stroke right now :D

    2 minute 53 seconds with 9.5km left.
QPQS, Sky and Bardiani have been doing all the chasing. Saxo haven't done any chasing.

2.45 ahead 8km to go. Dowsett riding into yellow.

OPQS panicked big time Kwiatkowski even riding on the front trying to shut it down !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 673 ✭✭✭blobbie

What are the 2 OPQS guys doing tucked in behind ??

    Very odd

    2.15 with 3.5km to go.

Wow this is unreal. Major messup by OPQS

    Chapeau Dowsett.

Really like Dowsett... he's been really active for the TOB and deserves the leaders jersey!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 77 ✭✭Ultegra

Real mess up by OPQS with the calculation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

dowsett by 34 seconds on the GC.

He might lose a few seconds tomorrow but id be shocked if he hasnt sown the GC up now baring a disaster.

So Dowestt should be pretty tired for tomorrow's stage... As should Kwiatkowski & OPQS .... Bardiani, Sky, and BMC did some chasing as well ....
Nico & and his team mates didn't do any chasing ....
Could be a good chance for him.

yeah true and Im sure that was a tactical decision by Saxo.

That said Id find it hard to see Nico overhaul that kind of time difference to Dowsett and some given how god Dowsett is in an ITT aswell.

Riding for second place now tbh.

actually he was in too big a gear...

Disappointed that Tinkoff Saxo didn't do any chasing ...not sure tactical (excpect keeping Nico form chasing) ...think the others were either not able (Boaro was prob knackered as in earlier break) but got the impression that others not that a**ed

Saw BMC & Garmin chase ...and Cav chase on hills ?? OPQS tried so hard...Kwiatkowski trying his best

Unless there is all out attacking tomorrow from the get go .....Dowsett has it

Maybe Pro Tour riders are so used of riding in 9 man teams where everything is controlled they can't think or do differently

Roche hasn't a brain in his head anyways, if you gave him a Ducati motorbike he still would find a way to lose.

Bit harsh .....He is quite a bright fella

His issue is he doesn't always engage his brain in his urgency to win..... and remember he is under pressure to be a winner all his career

Pro Tour is very hard with so many specialists these days it hard to get a win if you are a very good all rounder

He needs man management on the bike and with no race radios he is ****ed
