pickup wiring

    Hi,
I've just purchased a 'pickup and three controls plus jack socket' from China.
Great price, and it all looks OK.
    Problem is, no wiring instructions.
Basically, there's a red and a black wire from the pickup, ready to be connected. Then the tone/volume set-up is as follows:
Pot 1 has a blue wire soldered to the casing, which is also soldered to one terminal. there's also a black wire from the same terminal going to the casings of the other two pots, and then the earth terminal on the jack socket.
Then there's a white wire from another terminal on pot 1 going to a terminal on pot 2 and pot 3. Finally, there's a black wire from the same white wire terminal on pot 3 going to the centre on the jack socket. There's also a green
    capacitor thingy on pot 3.
Hope this makes sense, it does to me, but I'm sitting looking at it!
I just want to know which terminals I connect the pickup wires to?
If I 'trial and error' can it do any damage?

    plenty on the googlebot

If it's single strat style x3, should be handy, HSH setup with coil tapping could be tricker.

Test with headphones or small <9v battery amp maybe - in case of any risks of a live earth connection esp if intending plugging into hi-volt power tube stack amp. Some of those headless steinberger kits from Alibaba look tempting, but the woods unlikely to be to hi-quality swamp ash or good rose/maple hardwoods, thus could be prone to neck warp perhaps.

Thanks for that, no idea what half of it meant, but I'll go with the '9volt amp' for testing idea.
