Hey folks, ill be going for my first doe (cvrt) next week hopefully and im wondering if there is any test centres I should avoid or any that are good. My van is going to fail as I brought it to a mechanic and it needs new discs, pads, shoes, engine mount and back struts. But I would rather get doe done first to see what they say before I waste more money having to bring it back to mechanic after test. So anyone know of a good cvrt centre for a lgv thats preferably closer to southside.

They're all more or less the same now I think, which ever one is handiest or has a test time to suit....
Also it's a lot dearer to do than Nct , so I'd be inclined to do anything you know is wrong ... Plus if your test is out and you fail and have to wait 3/4 weeks for a retest are you covered for insurance?? (my crowd make a big deal of current Cert) you couldn't claim you didn't know the brakes or shocks were dodgy if you've a fail cvrt form next to you if you crash...

What do you mean "your crowd make a big deal about insurance cert"? I dont have insurance for it as I cant get tax or insurance without cvrt cert.

please get these done before driving the van more. Whatever about engine mounts and whatnot, brakes are a serious issue.

How do you plan to get it to a test centre without having any insurance to drive it?
BTW the test will cost you 111.16 euro and a re-test within 21 days (including Sat and Sun) is about 40 euro and after that its full price again for the re-test.
