HPAT repeats 2015!

    Hey all! I'm planning on repeating the auld' HPAT in 2015...I thought it would be nice for all HPAT repeaters to share our what not to do's and part with a bit of our wisdom and advice on this thread!:)

    My advice, to myself and others, is: stick to the timing with military precision. Or at least try to.

    I tend to (oddly) enjoy some of the questions in Section 1 and 3 and hate leaving them without figuring them out. It wasn't a huge problem, I was still fairly happy with my result this year, but something to improve on next time round.

    I was thinking of repeating but I'm going to stick with dentistry . There are so many pathways into it when you are graduated anyway . I wouldn't mind doing both in the long run .
    If I did repeat i would hope my section 2 would go up after studying behavioral science :P

    Hello everybody! I am thinking of repeating HPAT, but I already have a deferred place in medicine in NUIG. In order to see if I can get a place in Dublin. (my boyfriend lives in Dublin, and I'm living in Strasbourg at the moment and it's really hard..:/) Is this just a terrible idea? Has anyone done this and can give me advice? Will my deferral be cancelled if I retry the HPAT? Thank you very much in advance :)

    I haven't done what you're suggesting before so I can't give advice in that aspect. However, I believe that if you repeat the HPAT your deferral won't be cancelled, but in order to apply for colleges in Dublin you'll have to reapply through the CAO for them and this will cancel your deferral place.
