Drawer of random crap.

Following on from something someone mentioned on the "What items do grown ups usually have?" thread, I was reminded (as if I need reminding!ARRRGH!) of my Drawer of Hell where I stick all the ****e I won't use but convince myself I will use because I don't know what to do with it and feel guilty for throwing stuff that's perfectly grand in the bin.

My Drawer of Random Crap stresses me out and I've tried to deal with it multiple times only to go through the same thought process that made keep the crap originally ("I'll need it someday, so better keep it"). It's the scourge of my existence and I want to get rid of the damn thing forever but I suspect that wherever I go, it'll haunt me in some form or another for all eternity!

    a) Do you have a Drawer of Random Crap?

    b) What's in there?

    c) Do you love it or hate it?

I have a few of them. Recently I found Motorola RAZR 3 there and started using it. I have PSP, DS there, GPS, 5-6 mobile phones, cables, little screwdrivers, camera lenses, old routers, cameras, chargers, adapters, computer mice, everything... I love it.

Everyone needs a drawer of random crap. I recently moved so I haven't found where that drawer is yet. At the moment it's an entire room, so be grateful it's only a drawer you have!

Thought this was going to be a scathing criticism of modern art and what constitutes "art" these days

*Twitches* We all have the same **** in our drawers (ooooh matron!)! Are the batteries working at least?

Yes, but slightly more alarmingly, I've got a house like that (and I'm not joking). In some rooms I can barely see the carpet.

I buy stuff that I hardly ever use but don't store it away properly. Thankfully, nobody's been in my house in a few years...

I very much doubt it :o

Scotch tape (that's what we call tape sellotape in Canada)
    masking tape
rechargeable batteries, both uncharged and ready to go
    battery recharger
    measuring tape
    scissors
two (bathroom) ceramic tiles that I use as trivets
    and string
The moment I caught myself putting string into that drawer I felt like I had turned into my grandfather. And it's his measuring tape that I use. :)

We have a kind Of main one for the house in the kitchen

    That contains;
    Takeaway menus
    All types of instruction manuals
    Matches and a lighter
    Various keys
    Pens
    Batteries
And then just anything that might be important in the future.

Then a drawer in my own room had literally anything and everything in it
To name a few items; lodgement/ credit union books, flashlights, Sellotape, insulation tape, some watches, external hard drive, various usb sticks, cables and leads and so much other stuff.

Recently moved back to the mammy's temporarily so the contents of that drawer are in a box somewhere. I'm sure when we get a place of our own there will be another drawer like that though. Anything I'm looking for, that is usually the first place I look.
