    Hi all,
I have a dreambox receiver and I am catching well at least trying to catch foreign satellites, eg. 16W 13E 0.8W 19.2E and so on..
    I have a 1 Meter satellite.
On 16E the problem I have is not the signal strength in most cases but the BER and its after I catch a fairly good signal the picture on the screen just keeps jumping and its just difficult to watch. The LNB i purchased recently.
I hope someone knows something and that can help me out.
    Cheers.

No, satellites are 23,000 miles above the equator. You have a 1 metre dish and I suspect alignment problems.

whats the model of the dreambox and are you using a motorised dish, and location. Also what image are you using?

Yes we do need a bit more info. If its a fixed dish, what satellite are you aligned on?

That doesn't read like a description of a "fairly good signal". Poor BER indicates a poor quality signal. Are any 16E channels particularly affected?

"Image", I presume is just the particular software version your box is running. Probably irrelevant here, along with the receiver model, unless there might be some known issue with operating motorised dishes.

I'd say your problem is just a less-than-optimum dish setup.

I can catch a signal of 86/99 but the BER maybe about 50-100 and then channel quality is poor

I wouldn't pay too much heed to signal strength, as that will shoot up once you get any kind of signal.

You want to get the quality up, improve your BER.
