Im not quite sure if this is the right forum for this, my apologies if it it isnt

We had our sky+ box replaced by a sky+hd box last month and since the change we have had a slight issue with our TV since. Basically sky is appearing on EXT1 and channel 9. However on the EXT1 the volume is painfully low while on channel 9 the picture quality is very poor compared to the picture on EXT1. Has anyone had this issue before, the TV is a philips and is there a fix for either the sound on EXT1 or the picture on 9?

Have you a hdmi cable connecting the box to the telly?

I have two Philips TVs in the house and EXT is usually scart, component, etc.
HDMI1, 2 and so on, as muffler implies, is your HDMI channel and is what you should be switched to for your Sky box.

    How old is your tv?

If you're using channel 9, that's RF, and no way even close to HD quality, why did the box get upgraded? It sounds like you are not using the HD output at all, if the EXT signal is being passed between the box and the TV using SCART, that is also not HD, and there may be settings that need to be changed to get an acceptable result, but without knowing what make and model of TV you are using, it's hard to be specific.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Box was changed because the old one starting breaking and sky gave us an upgrade.

Just after checking and the HDMI wasnt used, switched it for the scart and now there is no issue. thanks for everyones advice.
