I am a second year student in collage and returned on Monday 8th of September. I was working for the summer so i did not sign on. I was expecting my first payment to be in my bank account today but it wasn't. Contacted the office and they said it would be in next Thursday. Does BTEA work similar to working a week in hand if your employed.
As far as i can remember it didn't. Last year my first payment was in the week i started college.

You need to get a letter from your college and say you are registered and attending full time college for 2nd year - i had to do this every year

you must hand that into your social welfare office

    - i don't want to frighten you but i generally got that letter in pretty quick
but i waited anything from 3-5 weeks for BTEA to go into my account
it was all back dated of course

but that letter is vital they will not issue payment unless you can proved you are registered , hope that helps

Ok. I'll get that Monday and hand it in. When I phoned up she said nothing about the letter. She just said it would be in next Thursday.

fair play to her she must be paying you herself! jk

no as far as i know it doesn't matter if you are doing a 4 year degree straight every year you have to get that letter from the college

you can get it in student admin /reception - they usually have pre prepared ones that you just fill up and again every year it was a few weeks before it
went back into the bank - it was the same for all my classmates

Yep, you have to hand in a letter to say you are a registered student, and what is the first day of the Semester - without this you won't get anything.
