I Have the Original Moto G..... What Upgrade?

    Hey Folks,

    I have a Samsung Galaxy 4 for work and an original Moto G as my personal phone......... which rarely gets used.
    I'm eligible for an upgrade and thinking about the below:

    Moto G 4G
    Galaxy S5
    HTC One mini 2

    I'd almost like the Moto G as the original has been such a sterling little phone but I won't take advantage of the new features as I just use the phone for the occasional calls.

    The Galaxy S5- all convention says I should go for this but I don't play graphically demanding games and I'm unlikely to purchase a 4K television any time soon.

    I'm mostly thinking about the HTC. I've had two phones in the past and they were lovely but both became faulty with screen problems and so this has me somewhat hesitant. I'm leaning towards this as just to have something a little different.

    Any thoughts or advice?

    Edit: Is the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact worth considering?

    +1 to that, you'd be mad to not take a top tier phone at the moment, if you're willing to take a sony the Z3 will be out soon.

    Well I'm not good at waiting so pulled the trigger on the S5. It wasn't quite free but who could argue as it was just €49.

    If you don't get on with it, sell it and buy three Moto Gs. :pac:

    Hehe..... a good point. I'm sure we'll be fine. The S4 was an amazing phone to have at the time so hopefully the S5 is just as satisfying.

    Free upgrade? S5.

    What is a free upgrade? I've been with O2 since their Speakeasy days with EsatBT, I've never got a "free" upgrade.
    They always want me to pay either upfront or via "Sim only excess" over the life of the plan.
    (Sim only excess is the excess of the equivalent plan in terms of minutes/texts and data I would get if I ONLY took the sim off them).

    Take these 30 days SIM only plans
      Vodafone
      €30.00 -> Unlimited calls -> Unlimited texts -> 1GB data
        Emobile
        €24.00 -> Unlimited calls -> Unlimited texts -> 5GB data free landline calls
          Meteor
          €30.00 -> Unlimited calls -> Unlimited texts -> 2GB data
            Three
            €40.00 -> Unlimited calls -> Unlimited texts -> unlimited data
              Tesco Mobile
              €25.00 -> 10,000mins calls -> 10,0000 texts -> 15GB data

              An S5 costs me about €55 per month
              so thats €30 for sim only plan and €25 "sim only excess".
              The total price for the phone I pay is €25 sim only excess per month x 24 months = €600

              Do you not pay a sim only excess per month? Who do i talk to about getting a FREE upgrade?
