A standard commencement notice must be submitted not less than 14 days and not more than 28 days before starting works.
There does not appear to be an upper time limit however for a 7 day notice? You must not start works less than 7 days after submission, but does the 28 day upper limit also apply?
If a 7 day notice was submitted and validated with the intention that works would commence after 7 days, but for whatever reason the works did not commence, is the 7 day notice commencement still valid say 2 months later to start works or does a new (standard) commencement notice have to be submitted?

I think the same rule applies as to a standard CN. Only you can legally start 7 days earlier and without a FSC or DAC. If the project is not commenced after 2 months, then in my opinion a standard CN would be required along with the ref numbers for the granted FSC and DAC.

Not many people let a 7 day notice expire due to the increased cost of them over a 14 day CN.
