Students & Rag week V Adults & Race week

I'm sure I could have thought of a better thread title, but anyway... given it's Freshers week in most colleges around Ireland and students ate getting up to the usual bin-knocking antics, there have been a thread or two made regarding this.

Come Rag week it'll be the same.

Now, while I wouldn't condemn some of what some students get up to, is it really all that different to the carry on of some adults during race week?

I live in Galway and therefore have got to experience the best of both worlds and in my opinion, students are just as bad as adults during these weeks and vice verca.

What's the difference? The majority of people, young or older have often been seen to be a little wild whilst under the influence. Is there a reason it's directed at students? As the saying goes; we were all young once.

    Opinions? :)

Yes, but yet there are threads started on student ant-social behaviour year after year.

Are you sure it's not just Galwegians in general?

I suspect a lot of the general bitterness and hostility directed against students in general comes from those who've made bad life choices and are envious of those who still have the chance to make good ones. Hence why it's young people who get attacked far more for the same behavior.

Are you f*cking serious? It's neither race week or RAG week and you're starting another one of these sh!t threads??? Why? People who set up new accounts should have to read boards for a month before being able to start new threads.

I started it because it's Freshers week and the exact same threads will be started Rag week. People are more familiar with Rag week so I chose to use that rather than include Freshers week in the title also and make it a book, not a title.

If a thread doesn't interest you, don't click on it or worse, comment in it. Something I've learned having been a long-term reader of Boards, very naive of you to think I'm brand spanking new to the site. Every bit of ammo counts though I suppose.
