Repairing Rusty Railings

    Hi,
I have some railings on steps up to a duplex about 8 years sold and there is a patch on one of the posts that has rusted completely through. Structurally its fine as its a decorative piece that sticks out but after removing the rust, treating, priming and painting there is an inch hole and it looks bad.
My own fault of course for leaving it so long but is there anything you can use to fill metal and paint over? It won't have to take any weight so is just cosmetic.

Car filler like Isopon should do the job for you, you can get it in any motor factors or Halfords.
