You will have to put a marker on the map to show what you are looking at.

    Thats quite interesting dublinviking,

The fella that runs AbartaAudioGuides has done a lot of research around there from what I remember.
Try contacting him, Neil is his name.

    Orientation of the ceremonial entrance:

    grange%2Bazimuth.jpg

This ceremonial entrance is aligned with the sunrise on the first or second of August, the Day of Crom Dubh, Lughnassa, the day of Perun, Thundering sun Ilios. This following picture gives you the azimuth of the sun path on the first of August 2014. My drawing is not precise so i could be one day off on either side. You can see that the ceremonial entrance looks directly at the sunrise.

Doesn't seem to be as clear on the Bing maps http://binged.it/1m2xs7g

If you look at the older maps, it looks as if the field ditches were altered and it may be that "jut" where the red cross is marked on this link http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,562586,640001,6,8 is what you have highlighted.

The circle is also likely to be aligned to the sunset at the Feb / Nov cross quarter.

Here is a piece I put together on my blog about the circles alignments. http://megalithicarchaeoastronomy.blogspot.ie/p/grange-lios_27.html
