invalidity pension waiting time..

    I have just applied for invalidity pension and I am wondering what the waiting time is like..I have heard that they are very slow and it can take months to get an answer and the answer is generally no.. Anybody have dealing with this recently and how was yere experience??

    You wouldnt have any Benefit entitlement at all.

    Ya I understand that I would have no benefit and just would need to continue handing in illness certs but was wondering about the waiting time for decisions at the moment??

    I applied for it this year,wasn't waiting too long for the application to be processed,about 5 or 6 weeks if i remember correctly,they were certainly quicker than other HSE departments that iv dealt with

    HSE does not pay Ilness or Invalidity Benefit.

    What happens after they process your application..is it a yes or no answer or do you have a medical assessment at that stage?

    To be honest sud1 i had help from local community center filling out the application & all i received was a text to say it was being reviewed, then i received a letter saying if i got it or not a few weeks later.Sorry i can't be of more help & as Kristopherus rightly pointed out it's not paid by Hse but on PRSI paid just seemed that they were efficient than Hse depts
    Any way hope it works out for you
