7500 to spend:
Any ideas?

Need 1.5/1.6 lt engine
journey is 90km a day total for work
interested in as low mileage as possible but nothing over 80k

looking at something from 2008/2009

Also theres one Focus, a friend is selling, 2006 1.6 TDCi , 75000 mls
he wants 4100 euro for it but i will need to sell on my own.

Any advice in the above, or is there a car im not looking at that I should be?
Not mad on chevrolet, hyundai, kia, citroen renault or peugot
thanks all, need quick decision as my own car isnt any good to me any more.

I'm assuming your own car went pop in the end?
Calculating your km per year seems to put you on the border between petrol and diesel.
Of course, this assumes you do 90km per day and that's it. I'd be looking at diesels tbh.
Now to the topic at hand, you have 7500e to spend and I see you want to be in the co2 band.

I probably do an extra 5 or so most days heading shops or to friends, training in gym driving to football at weekends

The almera is just cost prohibitive, i fixed this issue, but if something else comes up its quickly becoming uneconomical to keep it on the road.

some nice cars. thanks. Theyre mostly private sales though? Im looking to trade in the almera so ill probably go to a dealer, hopefully ill get a few quid and 6 month warranty on its replacement.

I think it would be better to stick your own car up on DD first and see what you get there which will probably be more than a dealer will give you.

7500 should get you a decent 159.

Edit: Just seen the bit about 1.5/1.6 litre limit.

The Ducati Corse version which is what I linked you to is quite a rare version of the 147. They also have a Q2 which is a very clever diff.
The engines are supposed to be very good although I don't have much experience with the 147.
The facelifted 147's which is posted are quite a good looking car and the seats are very very comfortable.
Things to look out for are suspension related, the wishbones anyway on the earlier versions seemed to have been made out of cheese.
Another positive with that engine is that there won't be a DPF.
