BTEA rejected due to College Transfer?

Hi my BTEA has been rejected due to me transferring colleges. Due to different circumstances I have to transfer or I cant go back to college at all, the case officer told me that they will not allow me to receive BTEA if I transfer.

My questions for anyone ITK on here is:

    1. Is she making this up, because I cannot find any such information on rules/regulations about BTEA not being allowed for transfers?? All the information about who is eligible is online and none of it mentions this

    2. Is there anything I can do, an appeal or a review?? Can the Officer just decide and thats it theres nothing I can do?

    3. What should I do now because its getting close to the start of term I have no accommodation and cant even look unless I get BTEA because I simply cannot afford to return without this money.

    4. What does this mean for any chances of returning to College in the future?? Can I never receive BTEA allowance again??

Any help would be really appreciated.

I have to repeat the year also but I was told that the decision was not about me repeating the year it was because I need to transfer colleges.

I thought they would accept it with relatively little bother since I got it last year but now I'm faced with prospect of sitting at home on 100 quid a week twiddling my thumbs or emigrating.

Must be something to do with the repeat as I transfered college going on to next year and received btea once I had proof I was progressing

Yeah they obviously told you wrong - you do not get BTEA for repeating a year. I had to jump through hundreds of hoops and fill out a myriad of forms just to be entitled to keep my JSA while repeating one class over a semester because they won't give you BTEA for doing the same year twice. (You have to be progressing to be entitled to it).

Actually you can keep BTEA for one repeat year but after that you are out of luck and will have to fund your education yourself.
If I have to repeat a year of an approved course and was in receipt of the BTEA, will I continue to receive payment during the repeat year?
Yes, as long as you are registered as full-time on the repeat year and are repeating the year of the course in full (all modules). A person will only be allowed to repeat one academic year of their course on the basis of exam failure. Do remember however that the student must pay tuition fees to repeat a year. The BTEA cannot assist with this charge.
