I seem to have a faulty control panel on my 9yr old whirlpool washing machine. It gets stuck on a cycle and won't complete a wash programme. All parts are in working order.
A new control panel is E200! Is there any way to get the old one repaired r do I just give in and get new machine. It's never good timing!

Have you checked the pump for a blockage?
Have the motor brushes ever been replaced on the machine?
Try a spin only and see if it completes this cycle, of it does try it again.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, Washman I have a Whirlpool washer that has died. No lights on the panel at all and checked plug/fuse all ok. My gut feeling is PCB, do you think its worth replacing/repairing? I think its about 4/5 years old. Model AWO/D7120 great bloody timing !

More than welcome on the thread.!!
Can you check and see if that model has a sealed drum.? by this I mean turn it on its side and check if the plastic drum is 2 halves held together by a ring of torx screws. If its not, that is just 1 molded piece that seems 'plastic welded' together then its not worth your while replace the PCB as the life of these type drums is circa 5 years. You cannot replace the drum bearings on these, need to buy a complete drum, approx. €150.
So no point buying a PCB and finding the drum packs in after a few weeks/months.
On the 'screwed together' drums a fairly handy DIY person can replace bearings.

Cheers for that Washman, yeah it looks like a sealed unit alright, I'm still loathe to dump a 4 year old machine though !

Sorry, also hijacking this thread with a whirlpool washing machine! Was just bout to post when saw this one. I'm having fault code F:06 on mine(AWO/D 5506). Intergoogle says drive motor tachometer. Cleaned pumps, checked belt, checked electrical connections, etc. Only thing left is an actual part:confused:. If so is it easy enough to replace without calling a service tech?

    Cheers, Anto

Have you checked the motor brushes..?
Don't take the fault code as a given. The motor could even be banjaxed.:(
Easy enough to change the tacho, just held in place with a spring clip that can be prised open with a small flat screwdriver. Quite rare for them to pack in on these motors though. Check your brushes...!!!

Might sound stupid but what does the tacho look like and where is it at? Best I can get in cork is €150 for new motor(part) and yer man was fairly sound and said tbh would be better off getting a new machine cos prob 6 months down the road would prob be a different part.

the tacho is the coil on the inside end of the motor normally with two red wires that come out to the terminal block on the motor, to test you would need a meter to check for continuity, rarely have I found these to fail but within the coil there is a rotating magnet attached to the motor shaft that can shatter or work loose
