I would consider myself quite stupid in matters relating to business accountancy, tax implications etc.

I wanted to set up a company last year, and registered the business name through the CRO, but didnt set up the company itself.

Do I still have to file a nil income tax return for this business?

Did you register for Income Tax with the Revenue Commissioners?

If so then Yes, if not then no.
