Why so far from a main airport for a photo shoot..? Waste of fuel imo

It's only 80 km from Shannon and would need to be so that it's away from their CTA. Not a waste of fuel at all, and maybe they wanted a nice Irish barren backdrop?

They came to Galway for our permanent blue skies and bright sunshine. :)

Pity I missed that. No doubt we'll see the results on the Air Contractors website soon!

    Scenery.

This went up on the Aer Lingus Facebook on Friday. That looks like the Aran Islands in the background.

The B757 was positioning empty from Shannon to Dublin and did the photo-shoot en route

Slightly off topic but just wondering why it would be going from Shannon to Dublin? They only use 1 757 from Dublin, to Toronto, and 2 from Shannon, JFK and Boston. Do they switch them around? The one that flew into dub from Toronto, would that have positioned to SNN?

Yes they switch them around to do maintenance which is done in the Air Contractors hangar at Shannon on a Tuesday when there is only one westbound flight from Shannon. The one that flew in from Toronto would come down from Shannon when its turn for maintenance comes around.
