Hair needs help!

My hair is very dry and broken. Years of bleaching, heat appliances etc. I've been trying to be kind to it yet no matter what I do I'm seeing zero improvement. For the past few months I've cut the straightening way back, completely cut out the hair dryer, only letting it dry naturally, only using sulphate free shampoo, always conditioning with a Keratin conditioner, coconut oil treatments overnight twice a week, taking Perfectil vitamins....anything I can think of but it still snaps at the ends and is still very dry. Any advice? Getting it trimmed hasn't really helped a whole lot either, it still breaks when I brush it and looks straw like.

Any miracle products that REALLY work? Thank you!

Mayonnaise. For real! Leave in overnight, wash out the following day (put in shampoo before you touch with water).

I also find a Moroccan /Argan oil mask from Penneys helps too.

Would you consider laying off the highlights and adding some lowlights? I was like you and had blonde hair for 10+ years until recently I just got fed up of my hair always being a broken mess and said to myself I just want healthy hair whatever colour it has to be. I got balayage done and at first it was a shock to the system to see it so dark, but I know my hair will thank me for it in the long run! It's been 3 weeks now and my hair actually feels like hair again, I can let it dry naturally and I don't look like a scarecrow and I'm actually liking the more natural colour on me. It's a good time of year to go darker as it's coming into winter and hair/make up/fashion all tend to get a little darker. I'm giving myself 7-8 months highlight free to get my hair back in good condition and then maybe I'll start to add some highlights again. I was like you and tried everything to keep my blonde hair, from masks to vitamins but nothing worked. Maybe your hair just needs a break from being constantly bleached.

Balayage still isn't great to be fair. Mine is very healthy and was like straw after I got it done.

It's better than bleaching it all blonde. When you bleach your hair you strip it of everything that's good and everything that keeps it from breaking off. The blonde I had on the ends of my hair didn't require bleach to do so my hair was a lot better because of that.

I have dark hair so cant really comment on bleaching but I have been dying it for over 10 years with box dyes. Also my hair was extremely frazzled from straightening it. I cant recommend Redken Anti-Snap enough. I've only been using it for a couple of weeks and already the difference to my hair is noticeable. I'm also using their intensive mask weekly and find it fantastic too.
I have to say I am very impressed.

Thanks very much everyone. Tried Mayonnaise many times but thanks for the suggestion.

I've heard of the anti snap, haven't tried it but it sounds like it's worth a go. Thanks Gmail. Can I ask where you get it?

Yours might not, but someone else's might. If OPs hair needs bleach then it's counter productive to get balayage done as it will still be damaged.

Just picked up the anti snap for under €14 on lookfantastic with 25% off at the moment and a further 15% off with the Pick2 code so it's a great price on there if anyone is looking for it.
