utter useless, trying to watch the Irish goals and its restricted ffs, for a developed nation, seriously television in Ireland is the worst, ever.....does anyone even watch RTE anymore? I am pretty sure most people have dishes.

the rte player is fantastic, what with all the news bulletins and fair city.

Most channels don't allow people who reside outside the state to watch their shows online, it's not just an Irish thing.

Highlights of goals? Surely you mean highlights which might include goals.

You need a VPN. Have a look at the Cyberghost thread in the Bargain Alerts forum.

As said above - it's not them, it's your location.

I had the rte player app on my xbox. Used to watch the news on it. Then a few weeks ago it just stopped working. Deleted it, reinstalled it. Still no joy. Deleted it again.

    Utterly useless.

We should be ashamed of ourselves that an RTE based, free to air, public service channel isn't broadcast to our diaspora by satellite.

For people determined enough, Sir, but most people just want to be able to push a button on their remote to tune into the homeland broadcaster.

An Irish public service channel was on the cards a few years back that would have been broadcast across Europe on the Astra Sat network but it was shelved when the recession hit.

If we cared about what was happening then it would have seen a diaspora channel prioritised knowing our people would be heading abroad

Cathal - me auld flower, I understand that ..... but since when did any Irish body think of the diaspora unless there was an Irish cause panhandling in it's slipstream?
When living in the European mainland (late 80s and early 90s)....... BBC World Service was great. There was an attempt out of Tara at one stage but ...... whatever.
