Have you asked the local authority if they have any cameras on that road? The insurance should be handling this - What do they say?

Sorry to hear of your injury.

It is possible that the Garda, South Dublin County Council (or Dublin City Council on their behalf) and/or Luas have cameras there, as might the roadworks contractor and individual businesses.

It is normal for people to deny responsibility, at least until it has been discussed with their solicitor and insurer.

Any witnesses should go direct to the Garda to protect the chain of evidence.

From a discussion I had very recently with Dublin City Council regarding an alleged traffic accident, it seems that the traffic cameras deliberately do not record as they would be inundated with requests.

I posted a tweet to Livedrive to see if they record the cameras.

Livedrive have come back and said that none of the cameras record and they are only used for live monitoring of traffic.

They wont do anything about the crash till the truck driver makes a claim against me until then its not up to them to solve the accident which is very strange

This is part of the reason why dashcams are on the increase. I have one in the front and I'm getting a rear-facing one soon. They are very good at resolving these swearing matches where one person decides to gloss over some of the detail.

Also, it seems from your posts that your insurance company might not be clear that you believe the other driver was at fault? You may need to talk to a solicitor who can best advise you on how to proceed because it *sounds* like your insurance company may not be dealing with this properly.

Yeah but that's what makes no sense. If someone crashed into you and damaged your car and person, it is you making the claim, no?

    Did nobody stop?

What car were you driving and type of truck may help refresh memories.

I was in the left hand lane and the truck driver was coming off the m50 slip road and the truck driver was on my rite lane and he hit me with the front left side of the truck and made me spin into the front of the truck on my side and then he pushed me into the rite side lanewhere the tralior hit the front of the car and made me do a 180 spin into the fast lane in front of a moving car the car did stop and he said he didn't see anything and he rang the gardai ane ambulance and I was driving vw golf navy and the truck was a layland Def truck ot was a 40ft cant name the company the truck driver works for

I'd change my user name if I were you and stop posting details about your accident here as the truck company's solicitors might find it easily enough if your user name is in any way similar to your real name.

Then you get a situation like the big scandal of calls to garda stations being recorded.

Was your friend in the car with you? Were you insured to drive the car? Why would your friend not want their insurance to get involved? Seems very strange that they would decide liability and accept the damage to the car out of their own pocket?
