Electric Picnic Ticket Scam

    Hi all,

We were turned away at the gate at Electric Picnic, and I am looking for others with similar experience to see if they bought from the same person, same email address etc. I was scammed for two tickets and there were large numbers of other people left unable to get in on the Friday too. Ticketmaster said there were around 100 tickets with these same details. They were e-tickets.

The name on the tickets was 'Brian Brotherston'. I met the guy personally, can identify him. Anyone else heard about this scam? A lot of disappointed people. One guy made a lot of money I think. He account on adverts was shut down and I have already heard of at least five others plus myself, though he has refunded some of them.

    Thanks all.

Have you gone to the Gardaí?

They've got skills in this department.

Yes, but you know what they are like. I would prefer a refund.

..plus I am sure others who were scammed are going to be Googling to see if anything's out there. Hopefully they will not feel like there might be the only ones.

You agreed to buy a piece of paper with a barcode printed on it. I'd imagine it also had 'non-transferable' on there somewhere?

Best if luck with that. Try toutless.com next time.

    :D

He's been at it for years. Google his name and you'll see a plethora of ticket scams and mobile phone scams amongst other things.

I don't expect a refund. It was stupid no question. I do want other people who were scammed as well to find this though, and to see how many people were scammed, how much money was made, and all go to the Gardai with all the info.

Go over to the peoplesrepublicoflangers website, they have identified him there.

I have identified him too, I'd like to make sure he get's his due. I could tell the guards I have identified him, but hopefully others will come forward and a large case can be built

More like giving nothing away, no indication of any other complaints, no prospect of anything to be done other than the complaint noted. I don't blame them.

Wouldn't it be better to go to them now and then start trying to build your big case?

I did go to them before I knew the guy's real name etc.

You should really go to them again now that you know his name. That might be of some help to them I'd say.
