    Hi folks

I've just recently gotten glasses after a few years of sore eyes and strain. So it appears I have hyperopia or farsightedness. So this is a noob question but I can't find an answer online

It's slight at the moment (+0.75 near) and I only have to use when reading/using PC/intricate work etc. so only about 12 hours a day when in work!!!

So I'm wondering cos away at the moment, can you get prescription sunglasses for my prescription? Have discovered new prob of reading in full sun with no tint! Does a bifocal make sense lower for reading upper normal?

I assume I could get a tinted pair of standard frames and I'm happy to go back to the shop when I get home but would like to hear how any folks in the same boat have sorted.

    Dist
    Sphere +0.5 Cyl -0.25 Axis 105

    Near
    Sphere +0.75 Cyl -0.25 Axis 105

    Cheers!

Yes getting prescription sunglasses shouldn't be a problem.
However you may not like walking around with them on (just like you may not like walking around with your reading glasses on.)
You could get bifocal or varifocal prescription sunglasses but this is upping the cost.
A low cost option could be to get a pair of ready reading prescription sunglasses off the peg. They can be bought but you may have to search to find a stockist. You may have more luck abroad where there would be more demand.

An advert for this crowd appeared when I searched for "bi-focals" on this very site just moments ago, so yes, there is such a thing.

How old are you? If you are less than 40ish you should be able to walk around in prescription sunglasses.
