Land Drainage

Could anybody give me some advise on the following. I have a few acres of bog type ground. There is a drain running on both sides which I cleaned a few years ago. This seemed to help dry some of ground but the bottom section is still wet . It is very spongy and not fit to drive a tractor on it. Is it possible to get this type of ground into shape. If so what would need to be done regarding drainage, what pipes to use or just stone. Any information would be very much appreciated.
As always thanks in advance for any info.

6 inch drainage pipes and plenty of chippings will do a good job on it provided you've a good fall to the main drain :)

Is it bottomless? Is it pure peat? The problem with pipe and chip is the stone moves away over a few years and only only get 8-10 years out of it. Connaught-agri drainage pipe looks promising for this type is land but as of yet isn't in place long enough to know if it works long term.

Is the land leading down to threw boggy patch similar terrain? Could you put in a drain before it that would stop the water getting down into it?

Stick forestry on it, some one else pays and you'll actually make money off that acreage .... :-)
Sorry I know that's not what you asked... Is some ground undrainable ? No matter how much pipe you stick in ?

But what's forestry paying now and how sure that these prices will hold going forward... What sore of access does this land have and what do they need..
