Woolie hat washing

When I get a new hat, I wear it all the time except when sleeping (although if drunk often wear it when sleeping too).

My wife is generally the trigger for the first hat wash, although I generally resist until there is a noticeable smell (like wet towels), this is generally after 6 to 9 months use.

My wife says I am dirty, but I almost feel my hat is part of me and washing it destroys that.

Am I dirty, or is this normal ?

    SB

    1. Get a white pillowcase.
    2. Sleep on the same side for 6-8 weeks

If it is somehow not oily and discoloured, feel free to never wash your hat.

    OK.

Is it OK to wear my hat while sleeping on the pillow ?
