What are the prospects for this fight happening now? Haymon has both, they were on the same card last night, and Broner has said he wants Lucas next. I would love to see it. Broner getting battered was like an early Christmas present last year. I could live with another rendition of that night.

I think Broner would do better against literally anyone else in the division, Garcia, Maidana and Pacquiao included. He stands there to be hit, and although he works well on the inside, he eats good shots in every fight. He doesn't seem to be enough of a puncher to trouble Matthyse either, so it would be a rough night to say the least.

That being said I think he's a great fighter. People look back at the Maidana fight and remember him getting knocked down, but he showed ridiculous heart in that fight.

    What exactly makes him "great"?

He's quite good but and I agree he showed heart against Chino, but he's not as good as he was being made out to be and certainly not even close to how good he himself thinks he is.

    Hope this fight happens!!!
LM hits hard and AB stands to be hit! I don't think AB would see the final bell. LM by KO in early to mid rounds!

As mentioned above Broner doesn't have the footwork to get himself out of trouble. He's gonna get hit a lot, and I don't find him all that ring savvy either. Lucas to knock him out in the latter rounds.

He's done quite a bit for a young fellow, and he just shows flashes of brilliance from time to time, that make me think holy sh!t if he could put that together a bit more consistently..

Give him some time, apparently he was losing the run of himself a bit leading up to the chino fight with partying, rapping, getting fat etc. but looks to be fully dedicated at the moment, and even losing the high and mighty attitude a bit.

'Great' might be a bit much if we're reserving it for the top of the pound for pound list, but I don't think he's all that far behind.

Most of his "flashes" of brilliance have been against smaller men. At 140 and above he will be found wanting. I will give him credit for his strong finish against Chino. Another rd or two and Broner may have gotten the job done.

In getting dropped twice, he showed impressive powers of recovery against Chino. And he was definitely coming on in the 12th, but I do wonder how much of that was due to the punch he landed after the bell at the end of the 11th. Maidana was clearly affected by it.

Broner will need a good chin. Any top level fighter will land on him with frequency. Both Garcia and Matthysse would land bombs on him.
