Trying to register my sisters 16-18 child leap card atm but I keep getting "The Leap Card number you entered is not valid for registration (Code E017). Please try again. "

I've tried registering it separately and to my account but neither will work any one any idea what the issue might be ?

Are you using only the first ten digits?

Ring Leap. It might be the card is already registered when it was issued seeing that a form had to be filled in.

Got two child leap cards recently. Neither were pre registered, and there was no problem registering them online.

I'm gonna ring them on Monday. I was just hoping I could find a solution over the weekend.

Called up leap today and I was delightfully informed that they have allowed someone else (by accident entering the wrong card number) to register my sisters leap card with their name using her leap card number.

I was told the only solution (as they can't get in contact with the person to unregister the card and apparently leap cant do it) is to cancel my sisters card and wait a week or two for them to issue another.

This means (according to leap) she'll lose the €15 she's on her current card and will also be inconvenienced by having to pay a fair bit above what she would to get to school using the leap card for a normal ticket until the new leap card arrives.

I really feel this isn't acceptable and can't understand why they haven't set up the system so that it isn't possible to register a card that doesn't have a corresponding name and number. Furthermore, it's really not ok that she should have to be inconvenienced and out of pocket for leap/another party's mistake.

She certainly should not be out of pocket - I'd ring up and argue the point with them.

    What a shambles.....

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

The fact this has been allowed to happen imo speaks volumes !

Don't worry, I will be calling them in the morning.

I gave them the rest of today to try again to get in touch with the person whose mis-registered the card. Were furious 'cos not only will she be out of pocket with the €15 already on the card but also the extra €20/€40 she'll have to spend on a regular train ticket plus bus fare while she waits for the new card to arrive.

They should be able to just transfer the balance onto the new card for her. Thats what they do if you have lost a card and had it registered.

They'll only do that for the person in whose name the card is registered.

You don't say whether you are the parent or child. Silly question, but has someone else in the family (user or parent) registered it? Or might it have been pre-registered?
