Payroll course and experience

Hello everyone, I'd be grateful if someone could give me a bit of advice. I just finished an arts degree with a first class honours but to be honest I am not sure what to apply for work wise.

I would like to do an IPASS course and work in payroll but I have no previous experience in that area. Basically I have health problems and I need to be able to work part time and it is very difficult for me to find anything suitable and payroll jobs are often part-time so that is why I am considering it. I have worked as a receptionist/ doing admin and secretarial work in a solicitor's office for two years and I also did a office administration course before that (which included a module in payroll, manual and computerised, I got a distinction).

I suppose my question is, would it be possible to do an IPASS course and get a job in payroll without any previous work experience in that area or would I be wasting my time? All replies welcome, thanks.

I am living in Dublin but will be moving to Cork in the next few months.
