Hi, does anyone know how to replace the lock cylinder in the drivers door of a 2003 Citroen C3
The car is no longer locking or unlocking with the key. There is a shaft coming out of the back of the cylinder and it is no longer operating the locking mechanism, the shaft seems to have come disconnected at the ball pivot point

Any advice on how to replace the cylinder if I buy one on ebay with 2 new keys? I know I will have separate keys for door and ignition.

edit, this is a stock image of what the cylinder looks like

You can see in the centre, just riight of the spring. Looks like a pin goes right through

I just took another look. Looks like there should be a split pin going through the joint between the cylinder and the shaft. When I reach in and put a piece of wire through the hole, it works fine. So I gotta take the cylinder out, put in a new split pin, grease it up and put it back together. Just dunno how to remove the cylinder so any advice appreciated. I am in Spain, just arrived yesterday, by the way, so a bit of an inconvenience :(

And I only have one key which doesn't have a remote fob, forgot the other key in Dublin.

Is the barrel turning and turning but not unlocking/locking the door..?
Citroen sell a particular oil that should free out a lock with these symtoms...The part number for this oil is 9731 68 in your local Citroen
    dealership.
if that doesnt work then pm me your car vin number and an email address and i'll see if i can find a how to guide on how to remove the barrel..:)

Cheers Row. The key is turnng freely in the cylinder but the shaft at the back of the cylinder is not turning. The shaft is supposed to operate the central locking. With the side panel off, I can reach inside and turn the shaft by hand and it operates the central locking. It seems like a split pin or something is missing between the two parts. I f I can get the cylinder out I think I can fix it . Just dunno how to get the cyLinder out. I will get the VIN number shortly and send to you. Thanks a mil.

I may have to bring it to a garage tomorrow
