Requesting Interview feedback from an ETB.

    Hi fellowboardies.

As you may know from a previous post of mine, I had an interview with an ETB earlier this year (and have since had another) and I have been unsuccessful in securing either post.

I know I am very lucky to have gotten any interviews, but I am wondering is there a way to request feedback as to how I've actually done in the interview?

I am afraid I am failing in some area and would like to know how to improve my interviewing technique.

    Thanks, Compgeek.

Best thing is to contact the etb in question. Id ring them and ask to talf to someone in hr. I was at an interview this week and it lasted about ten minutes long. I didnt feel they were interested and that they were just going through the motions. A major reason why you might not be getting the job is that it's long gone to someone already in the job but they have to advertise and do formal interviews.

    Hi smallgarden,

Thank you for the reply. You are very good to offer advice.

It is true that most of those jobs are probably gone and the interviews are just a formality.

I think I might ring the ETB(s) anyway for future reference.

Under the freedom of information act ETBs are supposed to supply you with your actual marks AND any notes made by the interviewer(s)!!! Just ask for it politely stating that you DO need to know where your failings are so that you can put it right for the next time.Good luck.

Definitely. They should send you on your marks and how they were broken down.

Ring up and ask for feedback on interview performance, they should have a record available. Best of luck on future applications.
