For some reason I cant get my box to recognise a usb. Option is ghosted out.

I want to update the firmware but want to keep my current channel list.

Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks

Option to "Upgrade by USB" is as you say, ghosted out until a formatted USB key is inserted. I presume you're saying that it doesn't recognise such a key?

You can save the current channel list as a .bin file, update the firmware and then reload the channel list as the default db.

As a matter of interest, why are you updating the firmware? Generally with these boxes, unless there's a reason, you're better leaving well enough alone.
